Our annual event to raise awareness and support for emerging film, theater and music artists is celebrated in style at a private luxury location, this time on the duplex penthouse and terrace of The Hotel on Rivington.  Charity poker, silent auction, selected gift bags and complimentary cocktails are all in order for this black tie creative event.

In addition, Crown Point is welcoming some of the best talent in Marketing and Events for a fun and productive night of networking.  Discussions will cover trends, opportunities and strategies in an evolving market. NYC EVENT (Thurs, 2/26): NYC Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre, and Braodcasting-“Careers in Entertainment: African American Perspectives”

In celebration of African American History Month, New York City Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, in conjunction with the Apollo Theater Foundation and the Screen Actors Guild, will present “Careers in Entertainment: African American Perspectives” at the world famous Apollo Theater on Thursday, February 26 at 6pm. The panel is free and open to the public.

The panel will be made up of prominent African American entertainers, including those currently featured on “Made in NY” television shows, as they discuss the successes they have enjoyed in the past, where they are presently in their careers, and what they think is in store for their future and the future of African Americans in film, television and theatre.

“Careers in Entertainment: African American Perspectives” will provide students and interested New Yorkers with first-hand accounts of how the panelists got started in their careers and how they view the changing landscape of opportunities available to African American entertainers. The discussion will be moderated by Commissioner Katherine Oliver with a Q&A session and reception to follow.

At the same time, we are working to ensure that a diverse group of New Yorkers have access to these positions through programs such as this panel and our ‘Made in NY’ Production Assistant Training Program - a series of free, full-time, month-long training programs developed with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations.
